Join this Free event and learn more about Bikepacking and the Florida Divide Route.

Bikepacking is a growing trend and for good reason: It's a great way to explore the outdoors, exercise, and challenge yourself. In this talk, I will share my passion for bikepacking and discuss the finer points of this unique form of cycling.

I will cover topics such as:

* What is Bikepacking and how is it different than Bicycle touring?

* The History of Florida bikepacking

* The tools of the trade including, sleep, bike, and cooking equipment choices.

* How to get started in Bikepacking

* The rigors riders experience while bikepacking

I will also share stories from my own bikepacking experiences. And will talk about the beauty of the places I have seen, the challenges I have faced, and how bikepacking has been a life-changing influence in my entire life.

There will be two parts to this talk. The first part will focus on the subJect listed above but the last part will allow participants to learn about the Florida Divide a 1500-mile bikepacking route that takes riders from the Alabama/Florida border, passes right through the heart of Tallahassee and takes riders all the way south to the very tip of the state

If you're interested in learning more about bikepacking and the Florida Divide or simply looking for a new way to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, then this talk is for you.

Finally, in a true testament to bikepacking and magic of the bicycle touring, I will be riding to Tally from my home in DeLand Florida (330 miles) to deliver this talk. Although this event is free, when you register for your free ticket you do have the option of donating to support my efforts by choosing the donation ticket option. Every little bit helps, no donation is too big or too small.

Food and beverages will be provided courtesy of Capital City Cyclists.
